What is a fat-point rate?
One rupee figure multiplied by the fat reading. The commonest way north Indian dairies pay.
If your per-point rate is ₹9 and the sample reads 6.4 fat, the milk is ₹57.60 a litre. That is the whole calculation.
Its appeal is that a member can do it in their head. Its limit is that it ignores SNF entirely, so watered milk with intact fat is not caught by the price.
Cow and buffalo usually carry different per-point rates. In Dairywala mixed milk uses the buffalo rate, and a single member can be given their own per-point rate that overrides the dairy's.
